ISACA Supports AEINSE in Launching a New Cybersecurity Credential for Physical Security Engineers

Madrid, 29 February 2024— ISACA, a global association dedicated to advancing individuals and organizations in the pursuit of digital trust, is proud to announce its collaboration with the Spanish Association of Security Engineers (AEINSE). This partnership aims to enhance the cybersecurity knowledge and skills of Physical Security Engineers through AEINSE's new "Cybersecurity Specialist Certificate for Physical Security Systems (ECSSF)." The announcement comes as part of the upcoming SICUR (International Security Exhibition), highlighting the critical intersection of physical security and cybersecurity in today's digital world. The ECSSF certification, developed by AEINSE, incorporates ISACA's leading training programs as a foundational element of its curriculum. This strategic integration is designed to address the increasing demand for skilled professionals capable of implementing, managing, and maintaining secure physical security systems within networked environments. AEINSE members seeking to obtain the ECSSF certification will be required to complete a series of ISACA's internationally recognized training programs, which include:

  • ITCA: Networks and Infrastructure Fundamentals
  • ITCA: Cybersecurity Fundamentals
  • CET: IoT Fundamentals
  • CET: Cloud Computing Fundamentals

Gustavo Frega, Regional Success Manager at ISACA, said: “ISACA is proud to continue strengthening digital trust and empowering security experts to effectively address the convergence of physical and logical security. Leveraging our experience in education, training and certification, our goal is to empower these experts to face today's challenges with confidence, thus contributing to the advancement and strengthening of cybersecurity.”

Juan Manuel Diego, President of AEINSE, also emphasized the significance of the collaboration, "The strategic alliance between AEINSE and ISACA for the ECSSF certification represents a major step forward in the integration of physical and cybersecurity. This partnership demonstrates how the combination of specialized knowledge and experience from two leading entities can produce innovative and effective solutions for the emerging challenges in global security."

This initiative is part of ISACA's ongoing efforts to bridge the cybersecurity skills gap. Last year, ISACA offered 20,000 free registrations to European students, granting them access to its network, resources, and events. By expanding the reach of its training and credentials in Europe, ISACA continues to contribute to the development of a skilled cybersecurity workforce, as evidenced by the certification of over 46,000 individuals under the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework. Through this collaboration, ISACA and AEINSE are setting a new standard for cybersecurity education in the field of physical security, ensuring that professionals are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the challenges of the modern security environment.
